I gotta tell ya it bites! I just did our whole house last month. Now this..
Well I spent at least 1 1/2 hrs on my little carpet but looks sooo good the odor is better! I think Ill try the baking soda tomorrow when its dry otherwise I think it would be all sticky. I think what happened was Iggie used her paper the other day but I didnt know it had run through and over the side onto the carpet. Then yesterday she totally missed the paper, which since I was at work till 7am today I didnt notice it till tonite! but hopefully after its totally dry it well be better.
As a last resort I poured Hydrogen Peroxide right on the carpet then sucked it up with the steam cleaner. I figured that should help with any smelly bacteria since it works on blood. It did help quite a bit!! Plus it didnt hurt the carpet! Maybe a helpful hint from Natalie instead of Heloise. hehehe

Nat get some "Healthy Habitat" by Natural Chemistry. The same folks that make Reptile Reliefl. Its an enzyme habitat cleaner that deodorizes really well. And its completely non toxic. After several years of use the logs that I have in Zok's enclosure had gotten a bit of that lizard funk. It was getting a touch smelly!
I sprayed them down with the stuff and it took almost every bit of the smell away!

Cool Thanks Guys

Im gonna have to get some! Not just for Iggie but for where the dogs sleep!
With their long fur it starts to get as Merlin says" A Touch Smelly"
My room does smell better than it did before I cleaned it 6 times!!
Thank God I we can use a really good Cleaner (from the Hotel I work at)
the carpet drys so dang fast its crazy! My daughter slept in my room last nite about 1 1/2 hrs after I finished and it was completely dry!

So I think I will get some new cleaner and shampoo the carpet again!
I do have a question though....The cleaners suggested, do they have fragrance in them? Im allergic to perfumes and some smells also trigger Migraines really bad for me. If its a natural scent not a perfume scent its usually ok.

The Healthy Habitat really doesn't have much scent to it and what it does have is a very light crisp clean type scent.
