Mice
When my mom went to the herp show we got 2 breeder mice. I think they are cute but should I let my baby corn snake eat them? I like the parents and only want to feed the babys, is that good?

wait...are you talking about feeding the adult mice to your baby corns??? or the baby mice to the baby corns?
breeding mice is a very economical way of getting the food your snakes need without having to buy them constantly. It's especially helpful if you have more than a few snakes. I'm pretty sure that pinkies can be fed live but anything larger and they need to be killed first. Just remember not to feed anything to your snake that is larger in girth than the thickest part of the snake. ![]() good luck,

I tried to breed some mice, but they wouldn't "Get Busy". I waited for a month and a half and still nothing
.So, I euthanized them and froze them yesterday. I might try again - but bedding and food for mice that aren't going to breed is not very cost effective. Good luck to ya! |

hmmm I should lend you some of mine Knox....mine wont stop breeding...every 3 to 4 weeks I get to freeze at least 15 pinkies....(at least!! ) My corn is all set for a while for pinks....I have a taker for the males that grow and I keep all females....pretty soon I will retire the main girls and pick up a new male for the ones that are left....or I may just find a new home for the whole tank...I really prefer already frozen....I only use the pinks from this group....Lyn

I think the pair that we have are sexually immature so I don't expect babies for a few months. I have some frozen pinkies coming in today or tomorrow. My intention was for Sean to learn the process or the chain, raising the mice, breeding them and using the off spring, etc.
