I WISH I had one. They're amazing lizards. I do know that they require a bit of space, and generally are not very friendly lizards. They're more for show. Considering they can get up on their back legs to run if needed, a lot of floor space is required (though not necessarily enough to allow them bipedal movement). They're also somewhat arboreal, so some branches to climb on may be appreciated. If you can, get a juvenile.

Have you cared for lizards or other herps before? Frilled dragons are amazing lizards but they are not for newbies. They get stressed very easily. I would say their temperment is similar to a basilisk. I haven't kept them personally but I know several who have and I've "herp sat" a few.

To ansewer your question yes I have cared for lots of herps before ; currently in my collection I have a Chinese Water Dragon ; Veiled Chameleon ; Tokay Gecko ; and several Anoles ; I've also had a Bearded Dragon , and My Iguana whom passed away at 14 yrs old . But I've been interested in Frilled Dragons for quite sometime and have always wanted one , so now that I have the chance to get one I'm just looking for some other folks who have kept them so I can get a good idea of what to do and what not to do I just don't want to make any mistakes when I do get one

I've never owned a frilled, although like you I would like to own one in the future, they are stunning lizards. What I would say is, I understand you want hands on experience from people, but don't let this completely take the place of research - read all you can, on the internet, in books, etc, to make sure you know as much as you can about them from every source available.

Good luck,. like I said I've never owned one so can't give you personal advice, but they sure are a beautiful species.

I too was looking into buying a frilled dragon before I got my CWDs. In the end I picked Chinese water dragons because they were more handleable.

What I do know about them is they take as much space as a Chinese Water Dragon or more, they have about the same temp needs, they are very active and eat a LOT...at least, that is what the research I did brought me to believe. I found a caresheet online if you want to look at it.

http://www.reptileallsorts.com/frdragon-cs.htm

That might help you or not depending on what you've read.

Good luck.
