Torn Off Claw
Well, Jack has been at it again. He has been fasting and spending all of his time trying to find his way out of his cage and into Tequila's cage so he can mate with her (its seems to be all he can think about
)I got him out this morning to show his to the cable guy who just installed our high speed internet (he has Bearded Dragons) but anyways, when I got him out and was looking at him I realized that he was bleeding, so I looked down and the longest toe on his back foot and saw his claw dangling by a tiny peice of skin. I readjusted him so that I could see it and it fell off into my hand. It is a pretty clean tear, no rough skin or anything. I cleaned it out with betadine and put neosporin on it, but I was wondering if I should wrap it to keep it clean (he's on linoleum, but he likes to lay in his foot and spread it all over, plus he has a moist hide with moss in it) I'm sure he will let me do it, its just a matter of if I should or not. I've already got the tape, gauze, and neosporin out, i'm just debating. Opinions please?

Why not? At the least it will keep the antibiotic ointment from getting all over everything. A missing toe will not slow them down.

Since it took a while to get a reply I wrapped it up, it isnt slowing him down, but he looks like a bit of a dork, i'll go take a picture of it in a bit. This is his first torn out claw, my other bluey came to me missing 2 and with one barely hanging on that she lost a few days later. (retained shed) I'm not too worried about him, I was just wondering about everyones opinion on wrapping vs. open air.
Thanks again!
