Sally stopped eating again...

My female Chinese Water Dragon has stopped eating yet again....all give you temps and all that stuff...humidity is around 75-78% The temp on the warm side is always around 85 deg and the cool side is about 78-80deg....i have a 90 gallon btw...the water dish is big enough for them to swim around in, and its heated to 80 deg, i have a Under Tank Heater and uva and uvb lighting for em...ive been using paper towles for her substrate for about 3 weeks now, so I can makes sure she oges to the bathroom...which she has been....i put paper all around her cage a little higher then 6 inches up so she cant see out..it helped for a while, shes been getting her app. back but today is the second day she hasnt eaten..it wasnt too long ago that I took her to the vet, no parasites, and shes not impacated...she is about to go into shed again..could this be it??thanks in advance!!

It could be the shed, or it could be that you have a dysfunctional lizard family! I wouldn't worry about it too much yet, my iguana and skinks have really slowed down on their food intake because of the weather. their cage temps are staying the same, but I think that they know it is cooling off outside. I'd give it another day or two, and if she still isnt eating you might be on your way to the vet again.

Hello,

If I am not mistaken, reptiles can pick up on the barometric pressure drop during the change of season even if their enclosure environment goes unchanged.

Shedding can cause a decrease in appetite. Hopefully this is all it is.

Your cage temps are just a tiny bit low. Day time temps should be 84 to 88 F (so that's 84 cool side, 88 Warm side) with a basking area reaching approx 95 F; and night time temps should be 75 to 80 F ... but given that your lizards have been ill on and off lately and gone through some stress I would keep the night temps to no less than 80 F, but preferably 84 F.
