I recentley got a tokay and heard they are hard to tame.But I would like to tame mine,and possibly get another.please tell me of any links,ideas,or techniques you might know.

all ive heard about that is that they are nasty little biters, and that some people just think its a waste of time to try, and since it just stresses out the animal they recccommended against it...
not trying to discourage you, thats just what I know

It's MUCH easier to work with a hatchling or young juvenile tokay, and many people have had success taming little ones before they get to a more stubborn age.

There's no real trick to taming a tokay...you just need to be patient, gentle, and persistant...and have really thick skin. <G>
Some folks recommend starting handling with gloves first, or putting the animal into a cloth bag, and holding the cloth bag first. Others say just grit your teeth, and pick up the gecko...don't restrain it too roughly. Short sessions every day will eventually get you to your goal.

I believe there's one tokay breeder out there who's specifically selling tamed tokay juveniles. At least, there was a couple of years ago.

just wear gloves and handle it a lot. Ive found with most reptiles, once they discover that biting doesnt help, they give up. I would think that putting it down whenever it bites would definitely be training it what to do if it wants to get put down.
