Cold Whiptail
whiptail lizards are common around where I live in N.M. they are dormant right now and skunks like to dig them up and eat them But they dug one up and didn't eat her but she was cold , so I warmed her up and now she is very active the only problem is that I cant take care of her all winter (no room, and they eat ants which I dont have). Can I let her go? Do you think she could dig a burrow without freezing? Please help

might be too cold to let her go. you can try getting pinhead crickets and she if she eats those

Not really a small type of tegu, but they are relatives. Whiptails, tegus, and ameivas are all very similar. Whiptails will also eat more than just ants. Like most insectivorous herps, they'll eat most invertibrates that can fit in their mouth, including crix, mealies, and the usuals. Larger whiptails will even eat other lizards and pinkies.

theres nothing herp related here, and furryscaly I just see them eating ants all summer so thats what I thought they eat , its ok I built somewhat of a makeshift burrow for her and put a large flat piece of wood over so the skunks dont dig her up
