Cleaning Cage?
i wasn't exactly sure which forum to put this in but here's the deal. my sis had a rat that she kept in a 20 long gallon tank. she no longer has the rat and I was wondering whats a good solution for cleaning out the tank since it had a rat in it. i'm going to be using it for one of my snakes if I am able. what would be the best way to clean out a tank that had a rat in it to use it for a snake? bleach? soap? and how long should I leave it sit before I put the snake inside it? i'm not sure what to clean it with and i'm not going to do anything until I have an answer that will work. thanks in advance.

Vinegar, bleach (diluted), soap, rubbing alcohol(diluted), or all of the above but not at the same time (makes nasty fumes). Rinse VERY well. Let it sit and dry until it doesn't smell like anything anymore.

Quote:
Wash the tank good with soap and water to remove all organic matter then disinfect it with the bleach solution. Wipe it down with the bleach water, let it sit for about 10 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.
