skink question

i am looking into getting a schnieder's skink in the future and my question is if it would bo appropriate to house one in a plastic tupperware type thing, would he dislike

If the enclosure is large enough anything will work. However as a general rule lizards are much more active and need a larger enclosure for their size than snakes do. Schnieders need a tank or equivalent about 30 inches long and a basking spot in the upper 80's to low 90's

i read that at the temp it needs there is a risk of fire
also how would I make a lid?

With any heating device brought into contact with any flammable material there is a risk of fire, be it plastic, wood, or paper. Its up to us as keepers to make sure that it cannot come into contact!

A simple wooden frame using hardware cloth will work for a top.
