The little ant traps haven't worked. In the past I have sprayed the sliding door around the outside of the house and it usually keeps them away all year. This year I have frogs just on the inside of that door.

What to do? Do you think I would be OK spraying, as long as it's along the base and outside of the house, if the doors and windows are shut?

I'm at my whits end. They are everywhere!!!

I would think that would be ok as long as there isnt anything blowing when you are spraying to make it airbourne.

I'd think so too. You can also get some ant pellets for the ground, or something else like Diatomaceous earth.

We use these little things the ants collect poisoned food from, they take the food back to the colony and it wipes it out. They have worked pretty well, I just can't remember the name. We got them from True Value.

What kind of ant are they Liz? Can you describe them? (big, small, black, brown) The are some ants that need special treatments or you can actually make them worse.

Ugh!! Those are horrid. We had the house sprayed and it still didnt help. They ended up killing 2 of my Crested Geckos.

You mean the tiny little black ants. They killed a Gecko?
I see one or two every once in awile, but never thought they would be a threat to any of my animals.

We have sugar ants too. I think they are kind of cute. Unfortunately they are a pest so I am using this liquid junk called terro. You put it where they find food. We'll see how it works. It says allow 6 WEEKS for the full effect.

Have you ever heard of Pharaoh ants? They are very tiny brown ants and if you spray for them...they just divide their colony and duplicate in size. Food bait traps laced with a poison is the only way we can kill them...but it takes a few days for all of the ants to eat the food and die. I don't know about sugar ants, but if spraying for them isn't working...they may be reacting the same way the Pharaoh ants do. Just a thought...good luck.
