Last night I walked out to the garage to check on him and make sure his lights went out and everything was OK and then I went to bed. I get up this morning and am all ready to go to work and walk out to give Vegas his Veggies. His enclosure is completely destroyed and he is nowhere to be found. there is no trace of him being hurt and no sign of him anywhere around the house. It's dark when I leave for work, so i didn't get a good look. I am leaving work around 11:00am to go back and check things out. I'm not sure if there is any hope at this point. something destroyed his enclosure, but both the cat an dog were in the house. We live on 12 acres with few neighbors and only one other dog, who destroys plants, he is usually let inside for the night too. If Vegas survived what do you think the chances are of me finding a 12" lizard outside???

whoa, thats not good. Oh no Becca!!! I'd set up his heat lamp so it shines onto the floor. He might migrate to the heat and light. I'd hate to think if a fox or raccoon got in.

Chances are if it was dark he would not have ventured far. He is probably curled up in a dark corner or under something. Check everywhere you would think possible and impossible to hide. The heat lamp is a good idea to.

I know, I have been thinking the absolute worst. I already set his light up shining on the garage floor. because everything was destroyed I can't see how Vegas escaped whatever got into it. What other reason would an animal have in doing this other than getting to Vegas? I've been upset all morning and have called my mother-in-law and told her to keep the cat in just in case he is still out there somewhere. My hopes aren't too high but not completely gone at this point.

I am sooo sorry Becca! How could something have gotten into your garage? What about his food? Could you put his food out with his light? Poor lil guy has got to be hungry.

The garage does not have a door. This was the only option I had of keeping him since I moved not too long ago. I was in the process of setting him up differently: had a new enclosure in the works. If he is out and about there are a lot of bugs and if it moves he will eat it even if it is bad for him. I am not so much concerned of him being hungry as I am worried that he will eat something that will harm him.

Most likely if he is in a dark spot, hes still asleep..we hope.

I certainly hope he stayed in the garage because even if he makes on his own and doing OK, that can only last for the summer at best.

Oh no, that is terrible! I rememeber your concerns when you were initially talking about having to move him, and now this. Was there any food in his enclosure, like veggies or something? If so maybe a raccoon was after that and Vegas is ok. I'm not sure, but I wouldn't think a raccoon would try to eat him? A fox would be another story, though. I hope you find the poor guy, that is just so sad.....
