I have been home for 4 hours now and there is no sign of little Vegas. I am afraid he is long gone. I still am leaving things set up in case he is still around, but when reality hits me I know I will most likely never see him again, and knowing this could have been prevented makes me sick. This is very much my fault.

I'm sorry its not all your fault! If your inlaws had just noticed how much Vegas means to you they would have allowed him inside where he would have been safe... They are at least somewhat at fault as well.

When i First Got my Schneider Skink, I had a temporary lid set up, one of the first nights i had him my cat went through the lid and pulled him out, he dropped his tail and ran. I searched franticly, and found him of all places, under a bag of art supplies for a class i was taking. You'd be suprised where you'll find them.

I went to the petstore here just to check it out, as I have never walked in there until today. That just made me even more upset. Nothing looked healthy. I don't think I will be getting anything for quite a while, atleast not until the house is built and we move in.We are building an enclosed patio for all of my future critters that I could ever possibly want. Then this won't be an issue.

Dont give up Becca and keep your eyes open. You never when he might pop up. I lost a leo gecko for a week and then one day, I was in my bathroom and he was looking up at me from outside the bathroom door, Like, Hey whats up, Im back...I really hope he shows up...

Upon thinking about this more I think I am going to continue with Vegas's new enclosure I was working on. This way if he does show up he will have something to stay in(as his was completely destroyed by the mystery intruder) and if he doesn't I may look into getting another Bearded Dragon a couple months down the road. I really enjoyed having the little guy around and will really start missing it soon I am sure. I got up several times in the night to peak in the garage to see if he had come up to any of his lamps I left out. It is so weird waking up and not having to go through the usual routine with him.
