signing in trouble

Ever since I came back I have been having problems signing in. If I use the login on the top right corner it says it logs me in but afterwards I am still not logged in... i have to actually try and do something so that it tells me I need to be logged in to do that and then I log into that and then I will be logged in.

Anyone else have/had this problem? If so how do I fix it

Re: signing in trouble

I had this issue on my boyfriends piece of crap computer so I cleared the cookies and all of the temporary internet files and it fixed it.

Re: signing in trouble

Hello,

Typically thats a cookie and temp file issue as stated. You have "stale" cookies and temp files on your pc. Once they are removed, you shouldn't have any issues.

Re: signing in trouble

I don't have that problem, but I do still have to log in twice before it sticks. I'm not sure why, but it's not a big deal. I just log in the second time and keep going. (Cookies are not the problem for this one. I suspect it's the difference between using windows/IE and OSX/Firefox or Safari.)

Tiff, i have no problem with Firefox. I would go and clear the cookies for this site only and empty your cache. What version of OSX and firefox are you running? Do you have it set for auto sign in or do you have to log in every day? I never have to log it, I'm always logged on.

Re: signing in trouble

I clear out all my cookies and cache each time I log off of Firefox or Safari. It's an old habit borne from the time when a cache size was much smaller, and you'd have continual problems if you didn't empty it out regularly.

I can stay permanently logged in with Safari at home (which, like I said, I don't really do) but if I'm inactive in Firefox for a little while, it automatically logs me out. A bit of an annoyance when playing some of the time involved games in Firefox. I don't use auto passwords at all, I'm afraid, I don't like them.

Firefox v. 2.0.0.7 (all up-to-date so far)
OS v 10.4.10 (Also up-to-date according to apple)

The reason I say it's probably something between mac/pc is because when logging on in Firefox from a pc, I don't have the same problems. And since I use two different Macs and have come here from both with the same double log in thing, I just had to assume there was a platform issue here somewhere.

I could be wrong, though.

Re: signing in trouble

Unfortunantly I don't have a mac so I haven't been able to play with the site in the mac environment. If you want to send me a mac though I will get the double log in issue resolved.

Re: signing in trouble

I would if I could. Everyone should have one!

It's really not a problem. I shouldn't have mentioned it. It's just a little thing. Once I log in the second time I don't have to log in again unless I go inactive for awhile.
