I would continue to do things seperatly unless you want to be lizardless. They should never be together at anytime.

Re: Can I have them together?

Edit: duh. I read that wrong. For some reason I thought you wanted to house them together.

But I agree with Marsha. It would be terribly stressful for the Bearded Dragon, knowing that there was a predator right there, and even if the python doesn't eat him, exposing the dragon to the python with cause the dragon to lose his sense of security. That may cause his eating patterns to change, being nervous all the time, he'd most likely become temperamental.

It's better to keep them as separate as possible.

Re: Can I have them together?

Not a good idea!
If the snake strikes you are by no stretch of the imagination quick enough to prevent it.
While the python, which feeds on warmblooded prey, may not view the dragon as food it may very well vew it as a potential threat and defend itself.
They will never be "buddies" and attempting it would be asking for serous trouble.

Re: Can I have them together?

I realize that this question has been answered, but I too wanted to chime in. lol

I agree with what has been written. While the thought of having them both out seems harmless and likely would appear that it wouldn't cause an issue, there is sever potential for extreme stress of harm to one or both of the animals.

Both species are from different parts of the world. (BP's are from Africa where as Bearded Dragons are from Australia.) Even though they are both captive bred animals, they would not "understand" one another and the potential for a fear attack or flee response is great.

At the same time, by taking them both out separately, you are actually spending 'better" quality time with them. Each having their own time out is allowing you the ability to focus on just one of the animals, and therefor dedicated that time to JUST that animal. It will help you create a greater bond and trust with that animal over the long term.

Re: Can I have them together?

thank you all for your help. thats wat I was worried about but your rite it would continue to b better for the both of them to have them seperately out. and they are very seperated rite now one is on my desk near the door (the python) and the other near my bed across the room and around a corner (the dragon.) thank you all again.
