Re: need vacation advice for herps!

If you do put in a larger water dish for your leo, you can put a rock or stick in it to help her climb out if she were to have trouble. Would your little friend Matt (I think that's his name -- am I remembering right that you babysit a little boy?) be willing to come and help the adult with the critters? If the adult had the written instructions, and Matt was OK with putting his hand in the tank, maybe as a team they could do it? You could pay Matt for his very important job, and he would be thrilled!!

Re: need vacation advice for herps!

Hey Amy it is funny you mention Matt ha ha cause he said he would do it and for me not to worry lol! I think he would be able to help out for sure...but maybe not the water job...I am not sure he would be able to feed crickets without smooshing them, but he is sweet and I know he is going to help out!

He was petting Sunshine today and was very gentle with her..he does hold her and is not afraid, so I think maybe it will work out.

I thank everybody for all the help! You all have great ideas that I can do to make it easier on this poor woman...I can't imagine how she is going to handle a whole week with my mini zoo! lol! I am going to be worried sick the whole time =( mostly missing them I think. Thanks everybody!

Re: need vacation advice for herps!

I am going on vacation next week too and have to relocate all of the pets on Saturday! My mother in law is watching the rabbit, hamster and parakeet, but refused to do the herps. Luckily my brother is a pretty experienced with herps so he is going to watch the leo and box turtle for me!

The first year my mother in law watched the rabbit I left strict instructions to not let her cats (she has 2) near Chester. When we got home she said they loved each other and the cats had fun going in and out of Chester's cage, OMG!!!!! Luckily they got along but I wasn't pleased that she took such a risk with my bunny!

Re: need vacation advice for herps!

If its a really big bunny, most cat's won't bother it. I have a friend with a big lop and he hops around the house with 3 cats just fine.

He is fairly big, last time he was at the vet for a check up he weighed just under 6 pounds. But he does have some REALLY BIG feet!

Re: need vacation advice for herps!

your bunny is a cutie! I have two cuties myself anc my car use to be terrified of them lol, but now he will sit from a safe distance and watch them. He does sometimes get brave and will sit sorta close to Hershey cause Hershey won't bother him..but Trixie does lol and Kitkat knows it LMAO they are so funny!

I would be upset too...witht he risk...like when my fiance's parents brought a new dog home and my cat was a kitten at the time..and they were supposedly fien while I was gone, but I got home and found a new dog (didn't stay with us though just visited) the dog ran aftermy cat and I screamed cause my cat took off and squealed liket he dog had hold of him...but Kitkat was just scared and not use to being chased like that cause Hunter our dog is a big baby seriously scared of his own shaddow..so I was upset about that..I mean waht if he did hurt my Kitkat! I would have died!
