how important
how important is it to sterilize wood from out side? i got a few pieces and didnt think it was crucial. is it? does it depend on what shape the wood is in? any ways heres a pic so can judge better.

I usually do treat wood from outside...then I wont be here saying there are bugs all over my tanks or lizards....I try to use live branches as well because bugs usually only nest in dead wood....good luck!!

Pretty important, in my experience. You don't want to bring bugs, mold or parasites into their environment if you don't have to. Yes, in the wild they'd deal with it, but likely the wood you find outside is not from their native environment, so some molds might react badly with them, and they can't go far to get away from pesky bugs or anything like that.
