i prolly won't go to college because of my bike... right now i'm traveling all over the U.S. riding and doing shows for united nations... the Monster Jam sponsors. so right now I just wanna get to know as much as possible without it and that's the only thing i'll go to college for is herp's because I have a passion for reptiles just like I do for my bike. it's really hard to explain but do you see where i'm getting at at all?

I worked with Herps at the National Aquarium, it is low paying, but a lot of fun. In my experience you will need a degree in some kind of biology, I chose behavioral sciences, marine oriented, and looked strongly into genetics and it's role in behavioral development.

If you want your foot in the door, you will have to go through YEARS of unpaid internships, and eventually you should be able to land a position as a research assistant. My recommendation is do it all. If you can volunteer do it, if you can pick up a coarse here and there do it, if you can get a low paying or unpaid internship that meets your needs do it, and most importantly be personable to those that are hiring and you are working for. Surprisingly the research world is quite small, and you can be heard of (good and bad) through the grape vine even accross the country. There is always that friend of a friend that will either help you or kill any chance you have at getting ahead.

Education and experience are key. I started as a high school intern, and worked a different unpaid internship every summer until I landed a research position for a professor at the University. I am currently working toward the whole Master's thing,but I am gearing it toward education and science so that I have something to fall back on when I can't find any research positions.
