Our corn used to act the same way about having my hand in his bin, the only suggestion I got was to let her bite me so she knew I wasn't scared of her, lol. but I ended up taking the easy way out, i always removed her from the cage with a snake hook, she didnt mind that much, and once she was out everything was fine...

I had the same problem with my hatchling king at first, she was very nervous about my hand in her home, it is just being terratorial! do you have glass doors or screen top on ya viv? if glass doors open them and sit beside the door and let him come to you, just be patient and wait so he knows your not a threat and eventually he will come out into your hand. thats what I did and after about a month of doing this I tried to put my hand in again and it was fine with me. good luck hope this helps.

Most hatchlings are nippy.
They consider themselves to be on the menu of everything they see! and in the wild they would be right!

Be large and in charge. That whole 'animals sense fear' thing totally seems to be true with my corn. I also feed him (the problem corn) in his cage. When I go to grab him, he'll push against me, but once I show the guy who is boss, he settles down. I've also started feeding the guy with tongs.
I danno. Show him whose boss. ![]() |

Treating an aggressive snake with a "show them who's boss" attitude will get you bitten! Their brains aren't wired that way.
In a snake's mind all they see from that sort of behaviour is an aggressive move and they will defend themselves. A slow gentle approach that lets the snake know you do not meant to harm it will get you a lot farther. A snake pushing its body against your hand is not an aggressive move. It is simply using you as an aid to travel as it would any rock or tree.
