If you dont want to clue them down, use sand to fill in the cracks. When you take the tiles out to clean you can just sweep the sand out and reuse, or get new.

that would work. Well, what about a silicone seal or cauck (spelling???) or something like the seal on the aquarium creases. would that work? I didn't want to get the real thick tile/slate cause I didn't want to make it SOOO heavy>especially if I do use a seal then would it matter how thick or thin the floor would be...it wouldn't crack or anything. I don't want any fumes with the Under Tank Heater, and I wasn't sure if the regualr tle grought stuff would work. I am sure it would work, but it may be too rough or make it even more heavy...however, alillte grought wouldn't make a noticable difference from the tile/slate =) sorry about the rambling lol

Lol.

Ok are you wanting the tile to come out so you can clean it? If so silicone or caulk wouldnt allow that, they would bond together and maybe to the bottom of the tank. If that happened you could forget about it getting out. You could use a knife after it cured, but that would defeat the purpose I think. Normal tile wont be to heavy int he tank. I have about 10 pounds of sand or more in one.

You can get roof slate, that may cost more, but it is really thin. and will break easy if you drop it. Cost I dont know.

If you have them cut it, they have a water say and can get a good cut with it so it will be far smoother.

Grout would work, but if you dont want to take it out, i would use that. They may even have a busted bag you can get. Smallest bag you can get is a pound I think. If you go that route, its eay to do, mix it up smear it all over the tile, it wont hurt it. Smush it in the cracks. Then get a sponge good and wet and wipe the extra groute off. Wipe it off again with a clean one and the let it dry. after its dry get some warm sopay water and clean it.

Need any extra help let me know.

I would advise against gluing the tiles to the tank.
Unless you have thoroughly sealed all seams and joints you may have a problem with fluids leaking underneath the tiles and causing the tank to smell.
And if you ever decide you want to use it for something else you won't be able to get the tiles out.

SOOO ok, grout is best then if I want to keep the tile in. I just got some tile given to me. It is a really nice look. A light color and natural stone look. I think I want to keep the tile in and grout the seams so my Sunshine doesn't get her toe stuck. I think I will be able to clean the bottom even if the tile is permanatly on the bottom of the tank. I have plenty of sand, but I don't know if I want to fool with it. I wouldn't want her to injest it and cause blockages.

Would grout be too rough for her skin? and would it keep out dirt and smelly stuff?

It is a small amout of sand that you would use so unless your geckos does lines of sand I doubt shed eat it. No grout wouldnt be rough on her skin. Once the Tile is in merlin is right, If it cracks it will cause mold, mildew, and other smells under it if it gets wet, and to clean under it youd most likely break it getting the tiles up.
