homemade logs?

Hey. i was online the other day and came across a recipe for a "Fake Wood Casting Compund" i was wondering if this, if made enough and big enough, would be good for putting in an iguana cage, here is the url you will have to scroll down the page for a while to get to it but it is titled as Faux Marble Casting Material. http://hometown.aol.com/sail2957/doughs.html
Thanks for checking it out. i think it might be okay since it is all well compunded and is all edible, tellme what you think. thanks.

Hello,

No, that would not work. For the record though, "glue", "plaster of paris", and "tempura paint" are not edible.

Fake Wood Casting Compound

Make logs for totem poles or for building a miniature log cabin. Combine all ingredients. Blend well. Bake in a low oven

All that will produce is a weird sort of cookie!
As soon as that stuff gets wet it will turn to mush and mold.

It would probably be significantly easier to just go find an actual log, rather than trying to make a fake one. Actual logs hold up a lot better, look a lot more realistic (being that they're real and all), are relatively cheap if not free (take a walk in the woods and see what comes up), and they are much less likely to harm the animal.

Remember to properly clean and treat anything you introduce, that way there are no hidden problems.

I think the market for fake limbs is more for convenience of people than health and comfort of animals. Natural things may take more work, but will save you money, look much nicer, and be better for your animal in the long run (provided they are properly treated).

Hello,

The simple answer to your question is "no". Would you think you could use a stale cookie? Thats what you are making with that recipe. You are making a brown, (which is what the coffee is for) bland stale cookie.

Even if you made it to be one foot in diameter, beyond it getting nasty and moldy when wet, it would crumble as the nails of an iguana began trying to climb on it.

Here is a piece of advice to simplify any searches you run:

If the product calls on you baking a food product of any sort, it is not adequate for use in your enclosure.
