breeding answers? |
| This is what our member has to say: does any one know the type of offspring I will get if I breed my female hypomelanistic corn snake with a creamsicle corn?... |

In this case you would in the F1 (first family generation) have 100% Normal het. Amel, Hypo (of Creamsicle background) If you breed the offsping together (F2) you would have a 1/16 chance of a Ghost (of Creamsicle background) It would be good to let anyone know that the snakes your selling come from a creamsicle parent as it is now consitered a Intergrade morph.

Hi, while Titus is almost correct, you would not produce any Ghosts, as this would need anery influence and unless any of your corns are het. for anery you would not produce Ghosts.
You could produce Ultra Amels (hypo amels again creamsicle lineage) in the F2 generation.

i have only had the two corns I was referring to earlier since november 4. when I got them they had not eaten anything since october 23. the breeder I bought them from said that this was because he was about to put them into brumation for the next breeding season. i fed them each a small rat pup two days later. since then they have both defacated and the male has begun to chase the female around the cage. he has been successful at mating with her, as far as I can tell. it has now been 14 days since they mated and she is going into shed. and beginning to look a little more swollen in the lower half of her body. Is it likely that she is pregnant? i did not think that it was possible for them to mate successfully this late in the year, is it? And if so what do I do once she lays the eggs, brumation or not?

What was I thinking!! my brains out in space today. You would have a 1/16 chance of producing Amel Hypos though the hypo would be masked by Amel and posibly not look any diffrent then normal Amels though a hypo infuance does produce diffrent colorations in some morphs even though it's masked ie. Coral snows.
