Bp escaped!
My brother's ball python has gotten loose! We ripped apart his whole entire room. I made him look in the weirdest spots but still NO luck! I'm so upset it was such a cool bp. Her name was eve, i am hoping I find her soon. I know it takes snakes a long time before they loose body weight and die and I don't want her somewhere suffering! AGHHHH. This is so upseting! I guess that's why 13 yr old kids should not have herps. They are not responsible enough to remember to put something ontop of the lid to keep it wieghed down or buy clips for 3 bucks! There not expensive! Sorry my brother has me really mad about this! I took his Bearded Dragon from him and told him it's still his but i'm keeping it in my room with me he doesn't take care of it! I do anyways! It would just be a lot easier in my room with the rest of the crew! sorry just had to vent-any places I could look? Any suggestions? Thanks Everyone!

How big is the snake? Start out close to the tank and work your way out. BPs are secretive and will most likely hole up in the first dark place tht it can find. You can also try sitting in the room this evening, around 8-9:00 being very quiet as being nocturnal this is when they will start to be active.

Look up and down. Under and in everything. They can get places you couldnt even imagine. Instead of getting mad at your brother, try helping and teaching him, thats how you learn. We have all made mistakes and had to learn from it.

Abra-Ca-Dabra
BRIZZY,
Don't panic ... it happens. It's happened to us on a couple of occassions. The first time my Cal. King got out, I figured that we would never find him. I knew that he would head for somewhere warm, and I figured that he may have headed for a crawl space under my kitchen where the hot water pipes are. But a couple days later, while the kids were playing the computer right next to his cage, the mouse cord seem to be hooked on something. When thay got down to investigate ... lo and behold ... wrapped up around the mouse cord .... close to the computer ... nice warm spot. (Figures MOUSE!)On another occasion when a a couple of Ball Pythons got loose (darn kids), about 10pm that night Lyn said to one of the kids "Off the couch, I need to check something". She flipped back the couch and sure enough .... "Presto!" ... a snake appeared! So keep the faith and keep looking ... I'm sure he/she will apear! Good Luck! ![]()

We have a corn that is an escape artist, he has gotten out a few times, even with cage clips. We finally changed him to a sterlite container with locking lid and he hasn't escaped. There is no use being upset with your brother, you need to be the teacher. I'm sure Sean would be offended by your statement "I guess that's why 13 yr old kids should not have herps", as he is only 12 and quite capable with herps. But I sure he will understand that you are just venting. I have also seen a few adult members who have lost herps, posting for help.

Yea, I was just venting. There is a lot of responsible kids out there, just not my brother. He doesn't want to learn, therefore I will not teach I will just take care of them and not have to worry about anything. I still have not found her, she is only a few months old she's pretty small maybe at the very most 12" I would say probably about 8-10 inches. I have looked everyday and night all over and I have everyone else there also on the look out! Thanks if anyone else has anything else more then welcome to let me know I will check this out everyday. I will also let everyone know if I get lucky and find her! Thanks guys!

I would just keep looking everyday, they hide in the strangest places, when I had my ball it got out twice both when I was gone, the first time I was in canada and they did not secure the cage, he was gone for two months then just out of no where appeared in the toilet one night, second time same situation, i was in iraq and he got out for a night and went in a open light socket, my mom was able to coax him out with a mouse in a cage, so I guess I am trying to say dont give up, and like merlin said wait till night fall, as that is when it will do most of its moving, good luck, its a good lesson for your brother on cage security.

try keeping the room a little cooler and leaving a heat blanket out on the floor, she may be attracted to the heat and lay on the blanket, not the best of ideas, but worth a try...

Yes I have been trying everynight looking in defferent spots in weird places and I have everyone that lives in my house looking all the time to. I just feel so bad for her she has missed 2 feedings already.Poor thing. I think I may try leaving frozen mice out and see what happens, she wouldn't eat frozen though when she was in the cage but it's worth a try to maybe lour her out. Thanks I will try to put a heat blanket out and see what happens.

Re: Escaped BP
I have a 3-4 ft. Corn and when I let him out he'll go for under pillows, between layers in a folded blanket, under the desk, up in the underside of the recliner, once even down into the couch under the part you sit on (pillows?). Being only around 12" or so think of someplace small and dark, even places thinner than you think it can go. My Corn is almost 2" thick and got under a 1/2" gap under the desk, I had to pull the drawer out to get it. Hopefully this will give you some ideas.
