My little fatties...

Yesterday the girls really out did themselves. A total of 75 crickets were consumed.
The Bearded Dragons at about 60 of those.. Scarlett took on about 15.

I know you're supposed to cut back on crickets eventually for the Bearded Dragons and I know I still have a while to go seeing as I have a 4.5 and 3.5 month old.. but when should I start switching the ratio on the food?
It's amazing though.. I got Molly at the end of July... she was 5.5 inches. Now she's a little over 9!
Maia, is an insane 13 inches!!
Scarlett is hitting the 16 inch mark. The bigger she gets to more tempted I am to start picking out a boy name. Right now, I'm leaning towards Murphy.. but that can all change in the drop of a hat!

Dyna is healing beautifully. I think I'm going to put her back in her tank tonight. The wound isn't healed completely but I'm not worried. I'll change her aspen tonight and get her set up again. This time, belting the lid on

They are still pretty young so I would let them eat till they are full until they are at least a year. I never count how many they eat, they know when they are full and will stop. I make sure they have tons of veggies in the morning.

For the time being I would suggest stripping the tank and using only paper as a substrate. That way you don't have to worry about a peice ofthe aspen poking the wound and re-opening it.

good idea about the aspen..
she's all settled. Although I'm SOOOO PARANOID. I put her in there.. fed the monsters and then went to check on her.. and BAM. I didn't see her again.. so I start digging in.. but needless to say.. she's just hiding in the paper towels.
Silly me..
juuuust to make sure.. I put two Harry Potter books on top as well as the belt in the middle to give myself peace of mind.

Can you pick up some cage clips, Joie? They're cheap, only $2-$3 a pair. After hearing so many people talk about snake escapes, I put 4 clips on Checkers' tank!

I sure hope it was the last two Potter books as they are the thickest. LOL We had our escape when we only had two locks on the top. The little guy could pry up the top with his head. We also use paper towels, you can really keep an eye on the critter that way, you have a better idea of when the do their business etc.

Bricks work wonders as weights for a 10g tank, I keep two on my frog tank because i've had an escapee wind up in my bathtub.
