beardie wounds

i have a question

i havent handled my Bearded Dragon in a while and so she has gotten a bit..err...vicious. she is about a foot long and has only bitten me once (my fault, at the time I was teasing her with food and I was still handling her, i know stupid, its been a couple years since then) i stopped handling her mainly because I have not had time for abt the past month and I know they dont really need it.

but my main question

is it possible a bite from a Bearded Dragon this size would require stitches?

Hello,

A "typical" bite would likely not require stitches. I suppose if they bit and shook vigorously, it could need stitches but I don't see that happening.

Stitches are a bit of a stretch, the Bearded Dragon would have to bite with some serious intent, and then struggle and thrash around to break and open the skin enough to need stitches.

I am going to disagree here and say that a Bearded Dragon could require stitches depending upon where it bit and with what pressure. My Bearded Dragon nailed me one day because he picked up a rubberband off of the floor so I had to dive for him and scoop him up and get it out before he swallowed it so I of course scared the heck out of him and in the process of prying his mouth and grabbing the rubberband. He just barely caught the tip of my index finger with the side of his mouth and tore the tip openn. it bled alot, was slow to heal, and hurt for a long time.
