Fumigation Notice
Hello to all,
Need a little help, our place is being fumigated for termites in October and we have been given some information stating that after the 3 days, we can move back in and all should be well for our reptiles and birds. Please can anyone give extra information we should be aware of ?, special precautions and or just extra steps to take to ensure the animals will not be effected after the fact. Also I'm not aware as of yet if we can board the reptiles so any suggestions on housing them at a hotel, thinking of how to transport all the cages if need be, (if an hotel will even except reptiles) and in the case we cannot find a hotel with acceptance, any hints to house them in a more discreet manner? Any and all help / suggestions would be sincerely appreciated. ssswoman ![]() |

When the place is fumagated take the herp tanks out of the house with you when you leave, especially if they are wood because they can absorb the pesticides and cause problems weeks or months later.
When you get the greenlight to move back in I would make sure that all of that lovely fumigation smell is gone too so that it doesnt have any ill effects.

I have had luck with Motel 6 and the Holiday Inn Express with keeping my animals with me. Just let them know ahead of time, and explain that you have cages and that your animals are not going to hurt anyone, and tell them that you will sign a waiver for any damages done, and also that you will confine your animals to the bathroom so that there is no chance of an animal destroying carpet. Good Luck! and be careful of the after effects of the pesticides
