Some starter help needed please?

This is what our member has to say: Ive never heard of sunbeam heating pads. But you can use just a regualr heeting pad for a Under Tank Heater...

It doesn't have to be a Sunbeam brand. Just find a human type heating pad with a three position switch. And make sure that it does NOT have an automatic shut off.
For the first month or two I would just keep it on paper to monitor for parasites.
After the quarantine my preference for colubrids is aspen.

yeah the sunbeam is just a brand of human heating pads...Some of them have a dimmer on it

if you can't find those other types of pads , exo terra makes several sizes of undertank heating pads that I have had luck with. i don't know the availability of them over in the uk though.

yeah my eexo terra makes the tank over 100 degrees sometimes but that is what I use (I HAD to get a dimmer for it though, it was getting way to hot)

thats odd, the bottom heater I have was actually somewhat innadequate at getting the bottom of my tank to a decent degrees, maybe its defective.

Which one did you get...I had a different one before and you could hardly say it heated up at all but the dessert ones I think it was...were pretty hot

Nice one thanks loads for me to look into! So heatpad of some sort with a dimmer! got it. Thanks guys and gals
