Hey guys I have a question about heating my 55 gallon long tank for my red tail boa. Im trying to get the cage set up before I add her into it. I have a Under Tank Heater on it right now and a 100w bulb, but I was wondering if I should use a Ceramic Heat Emitter instead. My basking temp is around 95, but the cool side temp is only 79-80. I was thinking about the Ceramic Heat Emitter because the temps at night go way down without the bulb on. Also I heard about the zoo med thermostats. Would that be something I should look into? One last question lol. With all of this heat the cypress mulch I use dries out really fast, and the humidity drops I have a moist towel on the lid but it still doesn't seem to work. Any help would be great... Thanks

A Ceramic Heat Emitter should work fine. you might want to try using glass or plexi-glass instead of the towel, this will keep the humidity in better than a towel. Is there a water bowl? You might even think about adding a second one (one for each side). Also where is the setup located? if it is near a window or heat vent or something of that sort, the "outside" influences could be affecting your temps and humidity.
