Re: Need Help Keeping My Wds Warm!!!
Welcome To ReptileUV - Mega-RayŽ UVB lamps for reptile lighting worldwide That would be where to look. Alot of users here have it, and swear by them. I currently dont need anything that big for my animals, but I am sure someone will come along with some more info on them for you

Re: Need Help Keeping My Wds Warm!!!
also, be sure to run something up to the top about 8 inches from the bulb. It will give them a good, warm basking spot. And cover part of the tank top with plexi to keep the heat and humidity in.

Re: Need Help Keeping My Wds Warm!!!
the top is a solid peice of wood with holes cut out for the lights.....i had the humidity problem before with the open top so I learned from my mistake. i didnt realize that they were supposed to get THAT close. if I put my hand that close it seems really hot within seconds...but I know they like the heat so ill keep that in mind and make sure I them their own basking spots right at the top!!!!
thanks

Re: Need Help Keeping My Wds Warm!!!
remember, there is no point in adding all that space, if they can't use it! lots of branches and climbing spots. Maybe 8" is too close, but at least around 12"
I'm sure someone will chime in on the proper height.

Re: Need Help Keeping My Wds Warm!!!
ok I just measured the height I have my heat lamp right now and it is 9.25" away from the baskin spot. so 8" doesnt seem soo close anymore LOL
ok I have decided to order a few MegaRays from reptileuv and was hoping someone could help me out in deciding which products to choose. i am not sure whether to get eb or sb as well as I dont know what wattages to get.
i am assuming these bulbs are better quality than what I am currently using which would make comparing them pretty hard.....i think lol
i was also hoping to convert my Bearded Dragon to mega ray as well
please HELP I want to order these bulbs tonight :P
thanks alot guys and gals

Re: Need Help Keeping My Wds Warm!!!
now that I can't help you with, since the only megaray I use is the non-light emitting heat element. Its a 60 watt that they claim makes as much heat as a 100 watt ceramic heater. It keeps my 90 gallon vivarium at 75 for my night temp. It could probably heat more, but I have it on a thermostat regulating the temp.
Do you have your water heated in the bottom? That could really help bring up humidity AND keep your temps warmer too.

Re: Need Help Keeping My Wds Warm!!!
well I never needed to heat the water because my bulb was right above it and kept it like bath water. i have a heating pad below the water side but have never plugged it in. i also have a submergable water heater if the water gets too cold.
i was looking at the heat emitter you are talking about and I am not sure if it wil be strong enough. my enclosure is probably close 160 gallon with the addition

Re: Need Help Keeping My Wds Warm!!!
yeah, but the heat emitter AND the UVB bulb could do just fine together. Also a water heater, like the kinds in fish tanks. Don't use an under the tank heater with water, its a bad combination. you are asking for the glass to break.

Re: Need Help Keeping My Wds Warm!!!
yea I would probably throw in the submergable heater before I plugged in the pad anyways.....pad doesnt seem to get very warm.
if anyone that uses these MEGARAY mvb's let me know what the would recommend what bulbs and what wattages would be sufficient for my enclosure it would be greatly appreciated
thanks everyone
