Greetings-

I've been keeping various herps for my most of my life. Starting young with small lizards and turtles, eventually moving up to snakes and a rather large Iguana.

About 9 years ago I caved to my son's request to buy a cute little green lizard at the pet store. Sure, I said, how hard can it be, I always wanted an iguana anyway.

That cute little green lizard changed my life and it's general direction forever.

Because of Rex, my now 9 year old male green iguana, I began a quest for knowledge in the frightening world of the internet. There was so much to learn and so many varied opinions I could hardly decifer them all.

I joined a few forums and met several people who helped me with Rex, and consequently a mini-zoo of other reptiles I just 'couldn't live without'.

One thing that I realized is the accuracy of the information varied so greatly, it was hard to tell what was right or wrong. Seeing this as a serious problem, I adopted public education on iguana care as my personal "cause". I worked to find the best, most knowledgable people in order to find the best, most accurate information about iguana care.

Along the way I met many people and became involved in a number of sites. One of the most important people I met was Rich. He and I shared a passion for education and a knack for moderation. We conceived Herp Center while working at another site together. As Co-founder and Administrator I watch very closely to be sure that our forums conform to our original concept.

I believe the internet is a wonderful resource for so many people, if used properly. I also believe that there are too many sites out there, started by enthusiastic herpers who are better at being active members on good forums then weak Admins on their own forum.

For that reason I constantly strive to provide the best information possible, only on subjects I'm well-versed in, I leave the rest to others who know better than me.

I was born and raised in central New Jersey. I relocated my family, my wife and two sons, to beautiful New Bern, North Carolina in July of 2005. I'm now closer to my iguana-friends and can do more work in home visits, educational talks and rescue/rehabilitation. We love it here!

I look forward to meeting new people, making new friends and constantly learning about these exotic creatures we all try so hard to keep and nurture.

Who would have thought a little 6-inch green lizard would have changed my life so significantly and forever?
