SuperGlide
Well, I'll be the first, hope ya like it!
A flash of green
A spot of white
Moving fast
From dark to light
Stalking prey
Nowhere to hide
Lightining quick
It's SuperGlide
Light of day
Dark of night
Steely glare
And vicious bite
You have no chance
Step aside
She's back again
It's SuperGlide
Come on over
I'll play nice
Just bring along
Some pinkie mice
Of course I'd like
Some cricketts too
I really love
Hot crickett stew
Turn out the light
It's time for bed
I'd like to rest
My weary head
Thanks for stopping
have a nice ride
signing off
It's SuperGlide!
Take care,
Chris

No One Can Eat Just One
Here's mine again
Tender morsel,
Soft and sweet,
A little fuzz
Is nice to eat.
I open wide,
Sharp teeth within
My welcoming
Reptilian grin.
Tasty treasure,
Serpent-kissed,
Slides down with just
A shimmy-twist.
My belly's full,
But still I seek,
Tongue-tasting air
In nooks I peek.
My instincts speak
Of three or four,
A nest, at least,
There must be more!

Charcoal Black
Charcoal black,
and shiny silver,
Chocolate brown,
and pink a sliver,
Great, huge eyes
and Indian corn under-
neath,
the black like rolling thunder,
Slithers through
the under-brush,
Speed like lightning,
cautious touch,
Tiny teeth,
but still defensive,
Looks for prey,
but not offensive,
Glances around
in the early morn,
Spectral beauty,
Charcoal Corn.

A REPTILE IS
A friend is always there
Someone to talk to, and
someone who listens.
Someone who you can sit
in total silence with and
and you both love it.
Sure a reptile may be
a little scaly, cold-blooded
and only wants to be out
at night.
But hey thats what most of us love
about 'em.
And once you get bit by that reptile bug
Trust me you'll never want another.
That is what a reptile is.

"A Tribute to Commodus"
The moon glistens brightly in the still of the night,
creatures with wings...
and perpetual flight
As they land in the darkness, small shadows arise
and all that is seen
is two glowing eyes
The ripples of water move gently, yet silent
The fog then lay haste
as if prepared for the violence
Such a beautiful night filled with warm summer air
The wind gently whispers
to all he is there
Yet since he's not seen...
not heard...
not felt...
He moves through the night
with cunning and stealth
He approaches his prey... so close he could kiss
these unsuspected victims
of mississipiensis
His razor sharp teeth so yearn for the kill,
yet he still stalks in silence,
so calm...
so still...
With no prior warning he leaps through the air
they've no time to move
to think...
to stare...
By the time he is seen it's well past too late
and the journey begins
to a watery grave
Who would have thought such a monsterous beast
could so eloquently dine
on such a meager feast
But the night is still young and the moon still out
he reenters water
he's still on the prowel
Searching through darkness with snout to the wind
catching the scent
of a future victim
Then into the night-
without care...
without fear...
As quickly as before
does he disappear

This poem I did for Rachel and Joe, for the little one they lost,
A poem for Princess
your little life was special, it wasn't meant to be
they did there best to care for you, if only you could see,
you ran around your cage, chasing little crix,
you even did your very best, to eat the veggie mix.
The little time you had, you brought such joy and saddness,
why is life so cruel, its just **** right madness,
a beautiful bearded dragon, in heaven you shall be
as heaven only takes the best, you can bask on a golden tree,
it's time to say goodbye, to a wonderful little friend,
we didn't really want to, we wanted you to mend,
goodnight little darling, you will be sadly missed,
hope your a lot happier now, chasing all them crix.
goodnight Princess

Once again Reposted...
Feed Me! Feed Me!
It’s dark and warm on Saturday night
Curled up inside my igloo hide
I wait patiently although my belly rumbles with hunger
Still dark, still waiting
She’ll come home soon I know it
Ah, finally there she is!
The lights flick on and I catch the familiar scent
Mom is home! Hooray, Hooray!
I know what she brings me
Dinner will come! Yum!
The locks are unlatched and the lid is lifted
I poke my head out, my tongue flicking like crazy
It’s mom and she’s come to take me out
Out of the hide I slither, she picks me up
Across the room we go
Towards that familiar plastic container
The scent within drives me wild
I wiggle a little in anticipation
I know what’s in there!
Dinner is served!
I come face to face with my fuzzy treat
As mom snaps the lid on
I strike, my mouth open wide
Within minutes I am already closing my mouth over the tail end
Licking my scaly lips in satisfaction
My belly full
Soon it’s back into my home I go
Mom setting me gently back down
I head back into my igloo hide
And wait….
Hehehe…
Until next week, mouse…

I dont know if I did what I was supposed to...
They may be cold blooded,
But they sure warm our hearts.
And nothing hurts quite as much,
As when one of our unique friends departs.
Often misjudged and mistreated,
They deserve our utmost respect.
Any dedicated herper,
Will always love and protect.
From all walks of life,
Our friends have brought us together.
Once a herp fan –always-,
Now and forever.
From the majestic beauty of an Iguana,
To the sheer power of a Savannah.
The awe inspiring size of a Burm,
Or the beauty of a Striped Boa from Guyana.
They all fascinate us,
So take care of them we must.
Guarantee their safety,
In herp fans we trust.
They may be cold blooded,
But they sure warm our hearts.
Nothing hurts quite as much,
As when one of them departs.
