Hello,
A true camo shot would be exactly as Steve defined with the definition. It's when the animal is truly blending in with its surroundings making it harder to define and see, but it is present.
If everyone re-reads the first post, there is nothing that states the shot can't be staged. The point is to try to define a camoed image. This may take a bit of creativity on the members behalf, but will make this contest all the more interesting.
The less camoed your herp is, the less likely you will win this contest.
This contest was given an extended time frame because it isn't the typical "take a pic" and post it.
Here is an example that may be of some assistance:
Lets say you wish to submit a leopard gecko image for this contest. The leo you want to submit is heavily spotted, with some light yellows and oranges. The background should have a similar color pattern so the leo "blends" in with it, making it more difficult to point out. That would define the true definition.
In the wild, most of these animals DO blend in with their surroundings. This is how they survive. You want to mimic that natural blending.
Those of you that have already submitted an image are allowed to change your submission if you wish. The contest states ONE image PER person can be submitted. It says nothing about changing your submission.

So long as only one image is added for the contest, you can change it as much as you like before the contest ends.
Use your imaginations and have fun with this one. The possibilities are endless!
