Wow, no threads here. Thought I'd start things off.

I recently rescued, and rehabilitated, a young male bearded dragon. The pet store I got him from wasn't entirely at fault, but the people who dumped him off there were.

He was very dehydrated, and pretty darn skinny. He had some kinks in his tail, but they have since gone away from proper supplementation. He has discolorations from ingesting a lot of calci-sand, that the previous owners obviously kept him on. I was told that they might go away with shedding, but they are still there.

Here are pics when I brought him home:

And, now feeling LOTS better, here are pics of him now:

Soon he will be going to a new home with my Aunt and cousins.

Thanks! He's such a stud too. The first day I brought him home he caught sight of my female, Miss Priss, and SHOT out of my hands for her. I felt bad for him when he came face to face with a glass tank though...silly boy.

Great job with the rehab. We adopted one that was kept on dirt with a huge water bowl, so the enclosure soon became mud. We are still trying to t the dirt stains out of his skin, even after several sheds.

Damien has shed just once, and the stains in the skin are still there. He gets a nice bath 3 times a week (as both my bearded dragons do), but to no avail. Good luck with the rehab! I can't believe someone would keep him in such a condition.

Aww, what a cutie! I love the shot of him basking on the concrete! I haven't been brave enough (and it hasn't been warm enough) to take my Bearded Dragon outside yet... I'm so worried he would skitter off too fast for me to catch him. He may have to be content in the house.

You're right to be nervious...Zola was all nice and calm, and then he took off like a shot the first time I took him out. Now he only gets to go out on a leash!
