Broken leg?
My bearded may have a broken leg , I noticed it this afternoon when I returned home from town. Before I left he was fine walking and chaseing his worms and crickets. When I was in the kitchen putting food away I heard a loud thump like one of the lizards fell, I thought it was my Igy jumping down from his perch. But now iam not sure for Joey is favoring his left arm . I took him to the vet but she is not a reptile expert. She did xrays and found that the joint in the arm did not look good.To me it looks like it is broke, She was not sure so she told me to call this reptile specialist. I left a message tonight for him ,Hopfuly he will call in the morning.I feel so bad for him, He is my baby that I nursed back to health when I first got him. Before it is said I do have the proper lights and heat lamp on him. He lives in a 40 breeder with uvb and a heat lamp .He eats greens and crickets some supper worms and vites and calcium.I built him a new basking spot , i believe that was what happened .I shoud of known it was to slick for him to grasp if need be.![]() |

I'm sorry to hear about Joey, they are resilient little guys i'm sure it will all work out okay. You might try taking anything he can climb on out of his cage for a while, and once he's healed up if his basking spot is still too slick you could use carpet or something on it so he doesn't fall and re-injure himself.

I took everything out yesterday when we got home from the vets.He made it through the night slept most of it.I hope I can get him in today. And most defiantly I will be redoing his basking spot so that it is not slippery.
