Make sure you rinse the tanks very throughly before putting her back in.

Re: Cricket or Sand Flea?

I'm confused, we bleached all the tanks, all her logs everything she has been near or around. We have cleaned. She's had the medicine the doctor gave her, which was to make them not like her. We have been bug free for 2 days that we know of, and all of the sudden, boom! They're back, not as bad, but there back. I'll be posting pictures tomorrow. Well, they're not mites, there are none on her, no bites, they're to small. But, they're blackish brown. It's not lice, they're not tan like they were and it's not the bug my mom has in her drains, because theres no water in her cage at the moment. It's got to be fleas. I think. grr. Plus one more thing, I will post pics about, yesterday, when she pooped there was a half digested meal worm in there. The poop was ranky! I mean bad. I have increased her heat it, was at 80 and I have given her a bath, just in case she's been holding out on poop. Since then and I gave her more lettuce today and not as much worms. I don't know where this all came from. Stress maybe? We're going to build her an stand for her tank in our closet, but we want to make sure the bugs are gone first. By doing this I can make sure she won't lose heat as bad. Again, I'll post pics around 10 pacific time.

Re: Cricket or Sand Flea?

couple of suggestions I would make:
1. Clean out the 60 gal tank as completely and as throughly as you can. This way you can get her out of the 25 gal, which I can't imagine you are really able to keep appropriate temperature gradients in...
2. Use paper towels for substrate.
3. Make sure you have a good UVB bulb, with a basking spot 12-16" from it.
4. Keep the humidity much lower than 70%
5. Dump the lettuce (romaine or otherwise) and parsley, and get her some collard greens and other nutritional veggies.
If you feel the need to really have a substrate in there for her to dig in due to her gravid state, make a dig box, using plain play sand that you wash and rinse well.
