Help!!!my Beardie Pooped Undigested Crickets

Help! I found semi-digested crickets in my Bearded Dragon's cage. He's a baby, about 8 inches from snout to tail tip, and I was giving him small pinhead crickets but switched to medium crickets yesterday. I always feed in a separate container on paper towels and I keep collards in a large dish in his cage. He is still very active and alert, his temps are 85-115, 115 being the basking spot. Today when I checked on him to I found some really big droppings and two semi-digested crickets. I fed him 6 crickets yesterday. I live in northern New Jersey and the temp dropped a little in his cage today because of the snow storm. He's in the basement, but it only dropped about 10 degrees. Please help, is this serious or did he just over eat or something?

You may want to consider supplementing his diet with Nutribac. You can purchase it through our site supporter, ReptileUV. Nutribac is a probiotic, which helps with digestion.

I wouldn't worry too much as long as the poop is coming out the vent and he is not regurgitating it. You may want to try giving it less crickets for a while as he adjusts to the larger size. Sometimes they eat more than they need to just like any child would. The Nutribac is also a good suggestion and we use it for our animals too. Good luck.

thanks I am pretty sure he not regurgitating it but is there any way I could tell without just siting and watching him to see if he is spitting up

If it is poop there should be white urates along with the brownish fecal material.
With vomit there would be the stomach contents with a bit of fluid.

what substrate are you using? Are you using calci sand?

no I am using play sand but I dont feed him in the cage I feed him in a separate tank on paper towel

he is pooping normal again maybe he just over ate or something
