I have never seen that, but I am going to guess that it is a probiotic of some sort. Medications are administered by weight.

Re: NEW PETSMART product!!!

I would be extremely hesitant to use them. For one thing the only way to determine if there is a problem is by a vet trip.
Anti parasite drugs, as Rich stated, are administered in precise dosage by weight of the animal. A constant use of any sort of drug results in an organism building up a resistance to the drugs making an outbreak harder to deal with.

Re: NEW PETSMART product!!!

I have not given this to any of my lizards. I just wanted to get your opinions on it if it is safe to use in case of emergency. The only lizard I would use it on now is Eve, the Mountain Horned Dragon who is on the verge of death.

Yes well I also have a Mountain Horned Dragon, and shes on the verge of death. I just got her a week ago from a mom and pop pet store for really cheap. I felt bad for her because she was housed with like 4 different kinds of water lizards, tortouses, and other such animals. They were all housed in a 55 gallon tank. The reason I cannot go to the vet right now is I honestly have no time whatsoever with finals.

The ingredients are as follows word for word:

Note: The Anti-Bacteria Meal is the same as the Anti-Parasite Meal, with the exception of three ingredients, which I bolded, underlined, and italicized. But other than that, everything's in the same order.

ANTI-PARASITE MEAL

Ingredients: Soybean Hulls, Poultry-By-Product Meal, Wheat Flour, Corn Gluten Meal, Flax Seed Meal, Beet Pulp Dried Plain, Dehulled Soybean Meal, Artificial Flavoring, Soy Lecithin, Cane Molasses, Vegetable Pomace (Carrot, Celery, Beet, Parsley, Lettuce, Watercress, Spinach), Dandelion Greens, Artificial Coloring, Dicalcium Phosphate, Limestone, Sorbitol, Calcium Propionate, Salt, Choline Chloride, dl-Methionine, Wheat Middings, L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate (source of Vitamin C) dl-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Supplement) Niacin, Calcium Pantothenate, Vitamin A Acetate, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Riboflavin, Pyridoxine, Hydrochloride, Menadione, Dimethylpyrimidinol Bisulfate (source of Vitamin K), Folic Acid, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Ferrous Sulfate, Potassium Iodate, Sodium Selenite, Fish Oil

ANTI-BACTERIA MEAL

Re: NEW PETSMART product!!!

If she is on the verge of death, it's not likely that these medicines will help her.

Do you know for certain what's wrong with her? What are her symptoms? Did you know she was sick before you got her?

If you give her the wrong medicines or too large of a dose, you could do much more damage to her than she had to begin with.

If you cannot take her to a vet, perhaps someone in your family will be able to. If your mountain horned dragon is that bad off, the only thing that is likely to help is the prescription of a qualified reptile vet. And it sounds like if you wait too much longer she will die.

Re: NEW PETSMART product!!!

yes, it needs to go to a vet. You need to make some time. Why take on a new pet if you don't have the time to take care of it? You apparently have enough time to go to the pet store. What is a trip to the vet, an hour or so?

Re: NEW PETSMART product!!!

As I see it, a. you need a vet. b. you need a vet. c. those are mainly a vitamin product, the limestone will kill internal parasites, but I don't know how it might work in reptiles. It works in horses, sheep, dogs, cats as a natural antiparisitic by scoring the parasites, thus they die.
