UVB light with a screen

Hey i read sumthing on the web site of the company that makes the florecent UVB that I got and is said that with the 10.0 you can use it with a screen on top on your tank. i wondering this beacause of the cat incident that happend a week ago. is this true I hope so. its a metal screen with fairly decent sized holes (its not a very fine screen) anyway if anyone can let me know this would be awsome.

Re: UVB light with a screen

It's been the general rule for years that if the screen was 1/4 inch or less the UV would be greatly degraded. The only way to tell is to measure with a UV meter.
