Any safe laxative?
Hi!
The year is not starting very well for me. One of the Bearded Dragons ate some bits of aluminum foil. Do you know any kind of natural or chemical laxative, safe to use on Bearded Dragons? Thanks!

I don't know about Bearded Dragons, but I use to use mineral oil on my rabbits. Can't tell if it will work or not. Mineral oil will stop food absorbtion though until it passes.

How long ago did she eat it. I would just let it pass its course if its a small piece, then if she seems constipated, I would look into helping her pass it.

He ate it some hours ago. He jumped higher than I would credit them for and snatched the aluminum foil from a home made reflector. He chew a corner off and from the remains I took from the enclosure, he ate about 1 square inch.
Looking at the teeth marks, he ate small bits at a time so I'm not in panic but I'm very concerned. I'll try the baths tomorrow but I was looking for a solution that would garantee me that there isn't any bits left inside.

I was told to use mineral oil if my iguana ever got a back up, I would assume it would work for them too, but I would not get concerned for the first day, and not induce anything unless it is absolutely necessary.

In the angora rabbits who would sometime eat their fur and get blockages the mineral oil would help lubricate and help the blockage slide through.

By the way, how do you use it? Feed them a few drops by syringe, mix it with food, etc?
What about olive oil? Doesn't it do the same thing?

I've used Olive oil with Zola with great results. I just dip about 6 mealies in olive oil and feed them to him off of the spoon (be patient they can't slurp up the oily worms very easily)
Other things that seem to work well are purreed pumpkin or apple sauce.
