Definately keep in touch with the folks here. Most of them/us are full of good advice. Beyond what everyone else has told you the only suggestion that I have is to make the enclosure as large as possible. The bigger the better. I think most people with happy herps have built their own enclosures...mine for instance is 4.5Lx2.5Wx2H (for two and now three). No one seems to like the sand even the calci sand isnt too great...mostly cause it is still a manufactured sand and can cause impaction. As far as lighting I use a heat/UVB flood lamp plus an incandescent spot (both for heat) as well as a 2' fluorescent for added light on the cool side of the enclosure. Dusting......I think juveniles should have calci/D3 dusted crix daily, those babies are growing something fierce and need all the help they can get. Diet of course is also very very important, their greens should provide a well balanced diet. I forget the link to a good diet sheet, but I'll try and find it again for you. Also look into getting a book expressly for Bearded Dragons. They arent complete but do help a lot.

Get rid of the vita sand! Any sand is no good and causes impaction and death. Get repti-carpet ASAP!Meal worms are no good at all either, they have hard chitin shells that also cause impaction and death. You have to let me know what kind of uvb light you have. A Bearded Dragon needs at least an 8.0 minimun 10.0 is highly recomended. How long are they?????? They 20 long tank may be too small for 2 Bearded Dragons. YOU MUST SEPERATE THEM!!!!!! There will be dominance issues and fighting, bullying and the weaker one will eventually starve !!

Welcome to the boards~! I would get an even bigger tank than a 40 gallon. Its just seems too small. I'm going to have 2 little frogs in a 40 gallon and to me that almost seems on the small side and frogs are much smaller than Bearded Dragons!
Keep reading. You will learn lots. Do a search for old posts and read up in the bearded dragon specific forum.
