hi! i've had my new bearded dragon for about 5 or 6 weeks now. I think I've pretty much have mastered the temps and his environment. I've also have read a couple of care sheets too. Right now he is about four inches from his snout to the beginning of his tail. I feed hime about 10 crickets every other day and some greens on the other days, does this sound right? I've seen on the website that some people soak their Bearded Dragons to keep them hydrated? even though I've seen this mentioned I havn't read anything about how often or even if you should do it. I've also never have seen my dragon drink from his water bowl. Is this a bad thing? I sometimes will spray some water on his vines so he can lick off the droplets, i heard this was a good thing to do. I also have heard some people mention brumating, what is this? I was also wondering when I should try feeding him other things besides greens and crickets, like waxworms or silkworms. Alright well if anyone can help or give me suggestions on anything I am doing that would be awesome!

He should be eating crickets and veggies everyday. Like veggies in the am and crickets in the pm. Waxworms can be fed as a treat, they are high in fat. You can soak them a couple times a week, they get most of their water from the crickets and from the veggeis.

Welcome to HC,,,,,your Bearded Dragon does need to have both veggies and crix on a daily basis. Mine too get there veggies in the morning and crix in the afternoon.

Yup, need both forms of food, alteast while he is a hatchling, as he gets older it will turn into 70% greens... good luck with the little one...

I feed my baby beardeds 2 to 3 times a day of crickets about 12 total at a time (6 a piece), for the time they are in the same cage, I'm keeping a careful-watchful eye to make sure no fights or missing toes/tails-sex unknown too little to tell. And they get fresh or frozen/thawed mixed veggies daily too (mostly greens, & some squash, carrots, apples or blueberries) and dry food is always available in their cage too. Marine
