i wouldn't suggest doing the sand I just recently got my Bearded Dragons off the sand, because of all the problems I read that it can cause(And because of the good advice of several of the members on this forum). In fact im still worried at this point if a few months down the road im gonna see signs of chronic impaction my male Bearded Dragon because ive been stupid enough to keep him on the sand as long as I did. I just use newspaper now, its actually pretty easy, i change it out once a day no big deal, so my beadies have a clean area every day no matter what. Feeding wise as has been stated, it really depends on the size of the crickets your feeding your Bearded Dragons, i'll have days where i'll get some really big nice crickets and i'll feed my Bearded Dragons something like 10-15 crickets. Then i'll have days where the petshop gives me the smallest crickets possible, and i'll end up feeding 25-35 crickets to my Bearded Dragons. Also you said your beardy is 6.5 inches long is that from head to vent or head to tail? cuz from head to vent is a really small beardy and it won't eat nearly as much as a full grown adult one would.

she's 6.5 head to tail. She's only two months old
I just read people saying that when they're that little the need the most protein and therefore eat mainly tons of crickets!
