Feeding TINY baby
Three of Solar's 4 clutches have now hatched. We lost 5 from 20 of the 3rd clutch - they don't seem as tough as the first 2 as getting same food, light etc. Still, 15 little ones still running around.
One - Popper - is really, really tiny. I mean, less then half the size of the others in the clutch. They're now about 3 weeks old. He looks well, not skinny, quite nice rounded belly, just not growing. I rarely see him eat his crickets or veg so have been hand feeding him with meat and veg baby food for the past week. He seems to like this but I don't want to discourage him from eating real dragon food. Any suggestions? He's so incredibly beautiful I don't want to lose him. We've sold most from the first clutch, but I'm keeping this one.

I had the same problem in every clutch, there was always one or two that were really tiny. If he is eating for you the way your doing it, i would continue with that until he gets a little bigger and stronger. Make sure you are adding the calcium and vits to your mixture....What temps are you keeping them at?...it might be a good idea to put the smaller ones in an enclosure of their own.
Hey...wheres the pics

Thanks - will keep it up then. Yes, adding vits and calcium every other day.
Will post new pics soon. Our computer died and we've only just replaced it. Then had problems with the new one.
Incidentally, Dan has named one from the first clutch after you!!
Did you tiny ones survive?

Really??? One after me,,,how sweet
Yes ma'am, all my babies made it. The were just smaller than others, most babies I have sold that were small, the new slaves have kept in touch and said they have made growth spurts as they get older. Hopefully yours will do the same.
You say 4 ft viv, is that what the babies are in? Oh, can you convert them temps to F for me

Rich needs to install a C - F and back converter, maybe you could pull some administrator strings?
In the meanwhile, you can convert temps here:

and everything else here:

Thanks Ricardo ..
Bev if you temps are 93f on the hot side, you need to bump them up to at least 105-110 for the babies.

OK. At present have 40W spot so will up to 60W.
1st from 4th clutch hatched at lunchtime today - bigger than Popper! I've put them in a smaller tub, just the 2 of them together, with micro crickets. We have full length UV tube so have placed tub in middle of viv. Will put babies back with others after work this afternoon so they can choose where they want to be.
So glad all your babies survived - I'm optimistic!
