Color of Beardie & Question
Ok when I got the center Bearded Dragon a little over a month ago she was a lot lighter in color with a tint of orange/yellow to her appearance. She had gotten a lot darker. What is her color and will she get darker yet?
The new Bearded Dragon cage should be ready in about a month. Will these three be of comparable size to put together by then?
Thanks!
I order 3 bearded dragon books so I shouldn't have to ask soo many questions

She could be stressed due to the newbies in the house, She could be getting ready to shed, but sometimes they are just generally dark when basking. As far as keeping them together, she may not look much bigger then them, but I would give them some time to catch up a bit. She might be an aggressor since she is larger and attack the smaller ones. Its best to be safe.

Colleen - 2 of my babies have darkened to that colour too. I have had feeding probs with them both also so at present, even though they are all from the same clutch, that is the rough size of the 3 of them - 1 is HUGE and the other 2 are still dinky lol I have been giving them extra care though so hoping they will pull through it okay.

Ok Saphira has changed color again. She doesn't appear to be shedding. But now she appears to gray white in color. The new babies and Saphira are in different rooms and really don't see each other. Really stupid question (again) when Bearded Dragons are hatched do they usually stay the color that they are hatched or do they continue to change colors? I have also noticed that her spikes under her chin and along her side are more predominate.
Ok, the books are on there way, they just haven't made it yet!!

Most of the time my hatchlings colors got better with each shed as they got older. I noticed the new baby I have (Azera) has really changed, her tails is really a deep reddish orange as well as the spikes on her sides, she has some pink coloring down her back. She is in shed right now, as soon as she finishes I will post new pics.

Both of mine have deepened in color from the time when they were hatchlings. I would also advise separating the larger one from the other two. Wouldn't want any accidents.

They are separated; Sean just put them together for a picture. Saphira is in Sean's room and the two babies are in the living room. Each day I wonder what color she will be next, I wonder if there is some chamelin in her background lol

I don't know about the chameleon part but I know mine change color depending on how they feel, how long they have been baking, I mean basking, and even whether they are together or not. They both have a general dominate color mixture. Harry we have had since she was little and really only got colorful after she was grown. I'll have to check previous pics to see if she started out with the same colors she has now. I'll let you know.

Saharia has just finished shedding and she is back to her original color again. I guess she turn gray because the old skin is getting ready to come off. Learned something again.

I looked at the old pics but they didn't really show me anything, I'll have to go by memory. I do remember that when it was time to shed Harry would turn all over greyish also. She would get kind of dull looking. Did Saharia? eat her shed? Mine do that sometimes unless my son gets it out first.
Also I think you should ask as many questions as you can think of. A book is just a guide line and you should use this forum resource for any and every aspect of dragon care.
Love your BDs and have fun!!!!
