Rocky update
Remember Rocky, the miserable, emaciated, poorly, neglected and unloved adult female Bearded Dragon we took in just 5months ago? (see first 2 pics)
Well, thought she was due an update.. after three lots of egg-laying (infertile, NOT from a mating attempt), where we were getting increasingly frustrated with her weight-gain, weight-loss repeats, we adjusted her photoperiod to hopefully confuse her into not laying any more. Well, it worked!, or she just decided that 3 clutches of eggs was enough for the year, and she is finally making some real weight gain. She got a check-up at the vet, and an initial faecel, followed up a month later by another faecel exam, and she was a very lucky girl - no parasites, no nasties any where, even the vet thought, at that time, that she wasn't too underweight for a dragon that had just laid so many eggs! The only thing that we have to do is clean her mouth daily with diluted tamodine (which she HATES!! ) as her jaw was slightly off-set from birth, and is much worse, probably due to the lack of UV and calcium in her diet before we took her in. She may, in the future, have problems with her teeth, but for now she is just fine :-)
Anyway, here she is (pic 3 - the pic that just got printed in the mag I write for! She's famous!! Pic 4 - having a cuddle with her dad and Yemaya and Eostara, our other two adult females, Pic 5- having a cuddle with dad), a few grams heavier! And much happier (apart from when we clean her mouth!!) She is still showing signs of loneliness, which is not unusual for a dragon that had company of other dragons all her life, but we have two young females, Rose and Cherry, one of which will be keeping Rocky company when they get bigger. Things are nicely on the mend for our beautiful little girl, and will continue to improve when we get our order of the new UV bulbs imported from the US..

I could never write her off! Even when she winds me by running under tv stands that she's not supposed to get under and poops I just want Rose and Cherry to grow quickly as the only sad thing about Rocky now is whenever she is out she runs straight over to the dragons' tank and peers in! "I wanna play I wanna play!"
Thanks guys! More update pics in a couple of weeks when she's had some time under her new bulb.

Wow! What a compliment! Thank you so much
I'm proud to be a part of this forum, with all you guys - nothing we have done is anything that any of you wouldn't have done if you were given the gift of Rocky.
I did decide however, the more animals I care for, the more I want to work with them, and in these cases the more I hate humans! But you guys prove that there are still some wonderful people still out there, making up for all the wrongs in the world. *Group hug!*
