Humidity values - setting the record straight
Hi all!
I posted a long thread about humidity values on HC Dragons.
Humidity, unlike temperature, generates no consensus of opinion among keepers.
The thread intends to be the starting point for some healthy discussion about this husbandry aspect with so many different practices.
Sorry for the shameless plug but I'm trying to get the ball rolling before the thread goes under everyone's radar =)

I read the post on HCD,,,,very interesting read. Not to be critisizing,,,,but. It is nearly impossible to replicate an exact environmental condition that an animal in the wild would have to a captive. By reading the data you were using to base humidity and temps on it seemed to me that this was your intent. There are so many variables that can change temps/humidity in a Bearded Dragons natural environment, such as a volcano spreading volcanic ash in Indonesia causing temps to drop in Australia, cyclones, drought, etc. We as keepers can only provide the best "constant". It is possible to fluctuate those if you want to take the time but those fluctuations occur in wild populations. Captives are much more easily stressed by change. Remeber,,this is my own opinion,,,,,not fact. So everyone,,,,dispute at will,,,,lol

I have to agree with Ken. Most people try and duplicate natural surroundings and it doesnt always work. To be honest, I dont keep track of the humidity inside of my bearded enclosures. I have been keeping them the same way for 3 years with no problems.

I was kind of hoping the discussion could be done there, in HCD. =)

I assume that Bearded Dragons like dry conditions and therefore make no provision to increase the humidity in their viv beyond that in the room where the viv is.
I never spray them either, although some people in the UK do.
I have kept them for three years with no problems at all and they breed freely, all the eggs hatching.
