crickets are the best staple besides silkworms IMO. Is the heating and temperatures right in your vivarium? that could be a problem. Another cause could be that he is either in the process of shedding, or just about to. Give him a bath in lukewarm water for about 15 minutes and that will aid in shedding. Mine used to stop eating right before a shed when she was younger.

I'm not really sure how to trick a bd into eating crickets when they don't like them that much. You might want to increase the size of the prey or decrease it. My beardeds ignored small quarter inchers after he reached 5 months and I switched him over to some larger crickets. He ate those crickets like they were the best thing ever. Some times too small of a size cricket can be discouraging to eat and this can be the same with too large prey some times.
Superworms and mealworms have a high chittin rate and can cause impaction, especially to younge beardeds. Freshly molted (white) meal worms and supers should be fine aslong as they are no longer than the size between your bearded's eyes. Silkworms on the other hand are very easy to digest, proven to be very healthy, come in many sizes and are filling. On the other hand, they are pretty expensive... |

I never heard about a Bearded Dragon that is not very found of crickets! Usually they are not very found of anything else =)
Without more data is difficult to give a correct answer. First and most important question is: how many crickets does he eat and how many do you think he should be eating?

Welcome to HC!!
I like to take my dragons out and put them in a large sterilite container, then let the crix go. Because the crix have nowhere to hide the dragons get very excited. |

she likes the crickets just that she dont eat alot of them she eats maybe 5 in the morning and about 15 the rest of the day she just got done shedding a couple of days ago shes now 11 inchs. she eats a lot of vegies and fruits. i tried puting her in my really large bin and feeding her crickets yesterday but she freaked out and tried running up the wall she didnt even pay attention to the crixs.

Doesn't sound to me like you have a problem - she's eating plenty. Where did you get the impression that she wasn't eating enough?

If you would feed her small crickets only and no veggies (which is a pretty stupid idea =) ) she would be doing something along those numbers.
My Bearded Dragon is almost 10", he's 3 months old and eats an average of 10 crickets a day. He doesn't go after very small crickets nor bigger ones. The size eats is a tad bigger (couple of mm) than the space between his eyes and this is the measure you must always follow. Don't feed her very small crickets. As she grows, feed her increasingly bigger crickets as long as they are not bigger than the space between her eyes. Like Rachel (Bitis) said, looks she is eating plenty. This might be a one time situation. Either way, a couple of question. Does she eat veggies and fruit everyday? Are you feeding her "safe" veggies and fruit? And since she has stopped eating crickets, has she lost some weight?
