Today I had one of the worst experiences of my life, when I got up this morning Tolkein was still in same position as when he went sleep last night, I thought nothing of it, then when I came home, he was still in same position, it being 1 in the afternoon, I thought it odd.

I went in the cage to check on him, tried to move him and he was stiff and cold, I immediately thought he had died, there was no movement what so ever, so I panicked, phoned my daughter to come over and help me.

I asked her to move him for me, thinking he was gone, and she was scared too, she prodded and poked, no movement from him, then she tried to move him it was like he was stuck and stiff, then she said, "mum" his eye just moved, I thought she was just imagining it, then she peeled him up some more and his legs moved, which made her jump and she dropped him, he still never wanted to move.

Eventually she managed to peel him up and he wriggled, so I scooped him up in a towel and cuddled him, PHEW I was so relieved, I gave him a warm bath which he pooed in and then sat him under the basking light, he seems ok now, a lot lighter in color.

Now, what could of caused this? it really has me concerned, it was like he went into some sort of deep hibernation, night time temps are ok, they have a heat mat.

I am going to take him to the vets tomorrow for a check over, just to be on the safe side, cause this is just not like him at all, when the viv warms up he is usually about head bobbing, and being all bossy, today he thought he would scare the living daylights out of me...

I very much doubt it, not in the spring, he wasn't like that at all through winter and I havent changed anything for him to brumate...

Hey Donna, glad hes going to the vet. If he were older I could see this being normal, but not at 10 mths of age. Keep us posted.
