This is what our member has to say: i dont know whats wrong with my male bearded dragons color. he was always a very bright red orange color over his entire body but ...

faded color?

i dont know whats wrong with my male bearded dragons color. he was always a very bright red orange color over his entire body but latly he looks really dark. im also noticeing that he hasnt had much interest in the females . except for that he still the same in every other aspect. anyone got any ideas.

Hello,
Is he shedding? Sheds will dull the coloring. How old is your UV lighting? What are the temperatures in the enclosure? Have they fluctuated? Reptiles will often darken themselves in order to collect more heat. (Dark attracts, light repels.) These are just a few ideas.

he's not shedding, most people can tell(you probably can ) my UV is only a month old and its a REPTISUN 5.0. temps are 70 on the cool end and 90 on the warm end, the basking spots are 105 dgs and 115 dgs. they stay on for 14 hrs a day now that im trying to breed for this season.
