It's a shame that the pet store obviously gave your brother the wrong information - the bearded dragon sounds very malnourished if he has only been feeding pellets all this time.
You'll probably find that she won't take to her veg immediately, but keep giving her it and she will eventually eat it. Don't feed any kind of lettuce, it has no nutritional value at all. Chop the veg finely and try dropping it into the bowl in the tank, so she can see you do it. The movement will increase her interest in the food and eventually she'll come over to it and check it out. You could also try putting a couple of small mealworms in the dish as well, so as she eats them she will pick up bits of veg and get a taste for it. It's great that she ate crickets, for now feed her in moderation, as she is obviously not used to eating a lot, and her digestive system needs to get back on track. As she is in your care start feeding her more and more. Most bearded dragons, particularly young ones, are greedy greedy critters and you probably won't be able to feed her enough!

It is possible to overfeed though, so stick to the 5-minute rule.
Good on you for taking her on, I hope you get her right. No offence to your brother, but he was obviously given the wrong information, and didn't do the research he should have done. Never rely on one person's advice, there is so much information and stuff to be learned that you need to gather as much advice as you can. Esp. with bearded dragons, there is so much to be found on the net, and so many books, and you've definately made a good choice being a member here!

Good luck with the little girl. Post some pics if you can!
