Hi all. Crush waves at me alot. It is so cute. I was wondering if it is a sign he is scared or if he just likes to say hello. Seems unstressed and happy when he does it. Often in the morning when I turn his UVB and heat lamp on.
I love this guy and hope it doesn't mean he is scared of me or something.

I usually means he is telling you look how big I am. He's not actually waving at YOU, he is telling you this is my territory, hear me roar (or see me wave), lol. Often they see us as predators since we are so much bigger and looking from above.

I've heard a lot of dragons doing that, but I've never seen Fitzgerald do that or head-bob. He's coming into his reptile "teens" though, so you never know. He seems to have recently figured out how to black beard at us and is thoroughly abusing the ability

Hehe...Crush has never done the beard yet. He is also hitting that "teen" thing.

I believe the waving is more of a submissive gesture.
Females seem more prone to it than males. Males do more head bobbing while the arm waving is more like the girls saying
"I see you but I didn't come here to cause any trouble!"

My hatchling, Bruce, bobbed his head and waved just one time when I first brought him home. Hasn't done it since.

LOL give him time. This behavior is more in line with an adult dragon. Mine bobs at everything!
